AUSTIN, Texas (CelebrityAccess) Spotify has decided to take down some, but not all, of Alex Jones’ Infowars broadcasts, citing violation of the company’s policies around hate speech.
“We take reports of hate content seriously and review any podcast episode or song that is flagged by our community,” a Spotify spokesperson told Recode. “Spotify can confirm it has removed specific episodes of ‘The Alex Jones Show’ podcast for violating our hate content policy.”
Spotify was reportedly under pressure to do something about Jones. The popular radio host was recently suspended on Facebook and apparently some of the public looked to Spotify, which hosts his podcasts, to consider action as well.
Jones has been known for provocative opinions, with the mainstream media focusing on his suspicions regarding the Sandy Hook shooting, but is also known for such interesting items as getting the “DC Madam” – Deborah Jeane Palfrey – to say on air in 2008 that she was not suicidal just prior to being found hanging in a garage.
