Wicked Wikis Wreak Havoc On Philip Anschutz

The Phil Anschutz/Charles Manson change reportedly came from a computer at the venerable Washington Post.

In September 2006, someone working from a Washington Post computer changed the Wikipedia entry for the Washington Examiner. Under the slot for owner of this young local publication, the person inserted the following change:

—Delete Philip Anschutz

—Insert Charles Manson

The entry was later changed back to the correct owner, Anschutz.

This killer information comes from WikiScanner, the new and now-swamped web site that tracks changes to Wikipedia by IP address. The Manson riff is the most interesting Post-derived change that we found in a quick inventory of the list. But we’ll keep on mining it.
