Rexall Place's Gerry Stoll Retires

EDMONTON, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Gerry Stoll, the man who put Edmonton Canada on the map for touring performers, has retired from his position as booking and entertainment manager at the city's Rexall Place, one of the world's busiest arenas.

Stoll has been booking shows at the Rexall, or as it was formerly known, the Northlands Coliseum, for 12 years and in that time, he has done more than 500 events of all types at the arena.

During a recent chat with the Edmonton Journal, Stoll shared some recollections about his time there.

His second date at the venue was with Van Halen, and when the band decided at the last minute that they didn't want to make the gig, so to save the date, Gerry pooled his resources with the event promoter to offer the band a private Lear jet to fly them north.

During his tenure, Gerry has seen the market grow from a mere three shows at the Arena in 1994 to 43 events in 2007, including Bon Jovi, Nickelback, Justin Timberlake, Akon, My Chemical Romance, Roger Waters and Willie Nelson to name a few.

So what will Gerry do with his time now that he's retired, does this spell his departure from the music industry? Not likely – word on the street is that Gerry already has a gig lined up but has yet to reveal what that may be. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
