ATLANTA, Georgia (CelebrityAccess) — Rapper Young Thug is facing drug and weapon charges after he was arrested following a traffic stop in Georgia over the weekend.
Brookhaven Police told local press that Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, and an associate were driving in a 2016 Mercedes-Benz Maybach when they were pulled over by an officer who suspected the window tint was too dark and arrestd after the officer conducted a search of the vehicle.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitition, Williams, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of Xanax, codeine and ecstasy, along with co-defendant Cedric Jones. They were also charged with possession of guns while breaking drug laws.
An attorney for Williams told the AJC that his client will be vindicated.
“I will do everything that is lawful and ethical to clear Mr. Williams of this false allegation,” attorney Brian Steel told the newspaper.
