Peabo Bryson received South Carolina's highest honor, the Order of the Palmetto, on June 16 by Gov. Jim Hodges at the Legislative Black Caucus Gala. A South Carolina native, but currently living in Atlanta, Bryson said, "This is better than a Grammy. This is better than an Oscar because this is home."
