Newport Folk Festival Announces Summer Lineup


NEWPORT, RI (CelebrityAccess) — Graham Nash is the latest performer to be announced as a headliner at this year's Newport Folk Festival. Nash, who is touring behind his latest studio album This Path Tonight.

The 2016 installment of the Newport Folk Festival will take place at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island July 22 – 24 and if you're planning to get tickets for the event, you may be out of luck as it is already fully sold out.

Previously announced performers include Del & Dawg, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Flight Of The Conchords, Norah Jones, Ray LaMontagne, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Raury, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Father John Misty, The Oh Hellos, Villagers and Joan Shelley, among others, with additional acts TBA.

The festival, organized as a follow-up to the successful Newport Jazz, was first held in 1959. Founded by Jazz impresario George Wein, the festival expanded in the 1990s from its initial focus on folk and blues to encompass a broader range of music.
