Montgomery Gentry Awarded ACM Humanitarian Award

NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry of the multi-platinum country duo Montgomery Gentry are the 2010 recipients of the Academy of Country Music/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award. The Humanitarian Award is an example of The Home Depot’s dedication to building better communities through volunteerism, philanthropy and inspiring others to do the same. The Award will be presented during the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, April 18, 2010 on CBS.

The Academy of Country Music/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award was created in 2002 to recognize country music artists who serve others, have a generous spirit and help build the dreams of those in need. The Award highlights artists whose generosity and giving spirit have become an inspiration to others.

Past recipients of the Award include LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts, Brooks & Dunn, Vince Gill, Neal McCoy, Martina McBride, Lonestar and Reba McEntire. Each year, the winner of the Humanitarian Award receives a KaBOOM! playground built in their honor by The Home Depot associates and is recognized at the Academy of Country Music Awards with a specially-designed crystal keepsake designed by Tiffany & Co.
