Mile High Music and Arts Festival A Go

DENVER (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Despite the fact that the first choice of locations for AEG to stage the first installment of the Mile High Music and Arts Festival fell through, the event will go on as planned.

Planned for July 19-20, AEG's Chuck Morris had planned on staging his festival at the Denver City Park, but noise concerns voiced by the staff of a nearby zoo forced Morris to look for an alternate venue. Now, according to the Denver Post, the festival will be staged in a collection of 24 soccer fields which are a part of the Dick's Sporting Goods Park in the nearby suburb of Commerce City. The stadium at the complex will not be used and had previously been linked with poor acoustics during a 2007 Kenny Chesney show, leading many audience members to request a refund.

Morris hasn't officially confirmed the new location, but he did tell the Post that "If in fact the festival will be at the soccer complex next to the stadium, that's great because it's an amazingly beautiful area with lots of grass — not unlike Coachella and its polo fields. It's very pretty over there, as it faces the city and the mountains."

The new location isn't very far away, being only 11 miles from downtown Denver and still allow for the main stage and three smaller stage plan envisoned by event organizers. "As far as I'm concerned," Morris said, "it will be an amazing music festival for the people of Colorado." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
