Hawaiian Promoter Tom Moffatt Recognized By Bruno Mars

HONOLULU, Hawaii (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A promoter in Hawaii has expressed his pride following a shoutout from Grammy-winning singer Bruno Mars following his well-recieved performance during the Super Bowl.

The promoter, Tom Moffatt was recognized by Mars for helping the singer to break through in 2010 after Moffatt booked him for 2 sold-out shows at the Blaisdell Arena in 2010. Mars thanked his 'Uncle Tom' for "helping to make his dream come true."

“We were looking at smaller venues and, hey, it’s Bruno Mars. He has come into his own and we put him on solo and it sold out,” Moffatt told Hawaii's KHON.

Moffett told KOHN that they also considered Aloha Stadium, but Mars rep ultimately chose the Arena for the shows.

“Oh, we talked to the stadium. We looked at the stadium and came up with figures for both the stadium and the Blaisdell Arena,” Moffatt said.

Moffatt told Hawaii's KHON that he has known Mars since the singer was quite young.

“When I first met Bruno, he was tiny and he was doing Elvis Presley, and then later years he was doing Frankie Lymon and some of the other singers. But he didn’t have his own material,” Moffatt told KHON.

Mars is set to perform at a trio of new shows at Blaisdell Arena in April. Good luck if you are looking for tickets, they are already sold-out. – Staff Writers
