Glen Phillips Upped TO VP Writer/Publisher Relations At SESAC

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Glen Phillips has been promoted to Associate Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations, at music rights organization SESAC. Phillips, who will be based out of the company's Los Angeles office, will report to Sam Kling, SESAC’s Senior Vice President, Creative Operations.

“Since Glen joined SESAC in 2013, he has done an outstanding job identifying and recruiting songwriters and publishers for SESAC and has been responsible for some of the company’s most notable signings, including Nikki Sixx from Motley Crüe and Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick,” Kling said. “As SESAC continues growing and innovating to maximize the value of our affiliates’ copyrights, I am confident that Glen will be a key player in the company’s success."

An industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience across a variety of sectors in the music industry including artist management, music licensing, and tour management, Phillips got his start as a student talent buyer at Southern Illinois University in 1985. In the 1990s, he served as a tour manager for acts such as Limp Bizkit and Stabbing Westward before moving into artist management in the 2000s, launching Beat Management and working with artists such as blues legend Buddy Guy.

In 2010, Phillips joined Windish and co-founded Windish Music Licensing. He joined SESAC in 2013 and most recently served as Associate Director, Writer-Publisher Relations. – Staff Writers
