Former Rexall Place Bar Manager Pleads Guilty To Thefts

EDMONTON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A former bar manager at Rexall Place Arena has pled guilty to stealing nearly $750,000 to fund his lavish lifestyle over a period of 4 years.

According to the Edmonton Journal, Alvin Jackson Goh has pled guilty to 208 thefts between 2008 and 2012, including twice stealing ‘bags of cash’ from the vault of his employer Dominion Sportservices.

“These crimes were committed out of pure greed,” Crown prosecutor James Pickard told the court on Feb 7th. “These thefts were for the purpose of paying for Mr. Goh’s lavish lifestyle. The thefts were planned, organized and premeditated. Mr. Goh actually evolved during this time to avoid detection.”

The majority of the thefts were between $1,000 to $2,500, which Goh would take from the register during major events such as hockey games or concerts, using voided sales and manipulated inventories to cover his tracks. Goh also stole large amounts of cash from a vault on two occasions.

Go reportedly spent the money on concert tickets, expensive hotels, jewelry, a lavish Central Park wedding, and a $109,000 horse for his father-in-law.

Goh's involvement in the theft was discovered by investigators in the wake of the vault theft and Goh was arrested by Interpol in London after fleeing Canada and seeking a Chinese visa. – Staff Writers
