Ed Force One Grounded In Airport Accident

SANTIAGO, CHILE (CelebrityAccess) — Just weeks after debuting Ed Force One, their new branded 747, the tour plane has been grounded after being badly damaged in an airport accident.

According to a rep from the band, the accident occured on the ground in Santiago during refueling. The plane was being towed when the steering pin connecting the plane to the tractor apparently fell out, leaving the jet without guidance and causing it to crash into the tug.

Two ground personnel were injured and taken to the hospital and the plane suffered damage that will likely require extended maintaience.

A followup press statement from the band said: "We expect no disruption to the tour in any way and are looking for a replacement 747 Ed Force One while our current beauty is healed. More news on that later. Until then, believe me, we will get to you all on this tour one way or another wherever you are.

"We are also delighted to say that we have been officially informed that the two Chilean airport staff who were injured following the malfunction of the tow truck connecting bolt will make a complete recovery. Best wishes to them and their families." – Staff Writers
