DJ AM Left Evidence Of Possible Overdose And Debt

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Andrea Gross, mother to the recently deceased DJ AM, filed court papers Wednesday requesting to oversee her son’s $1 million estate. DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, did not have a will at the time of his death, leaving Gross with the sole claim to his estate.

According to the court filings, Goldstein had an annual income of approximately $3.5 million and about $400,000 in assets. At the same time, Goldstein also had $2.9 million in debt.

Goldstein was found dead in his Manhattan apartment last Friday and preliminary autopsy findings suggested that his death may not have been accidental. A city official, speaking on conditions of anonymity, told the New York Times that medical examiners had found 6 pills, tentatively identified as the potent painkiller Oxycontin in his stomach. A toxicology report is still pending.

Goldstein had struggled with drug addiction in the past but had claimed to have been sober for 11 years, however, investigators reportedly found unspecified prescription pills and a 'crack pipe' near Goldstein's body, the New York Times reported. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
