David Swift Moves To Pala Casino Spa & Resort

Pala, California (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Pala Casino Spa & Resort, has announced David Swift as director of entertainment. Pala Casino Spa & Resort provides several venues that host a variety entertainment, from legendary performers to exciting sporting events.

In his new position, Swift will oversee the daily operations of the entertainment department, where he will be responsible for booking all acts at Pala’s four venues, as well as producing and promoting shows and concerts. He will also be in charge of all audio and visual aspects throughout the property.

“With David’s extensive background in the entertainment and promotions field, we’re confident he will continue to bring first-rate talent and headlining concert acts to Pala’s entertainment venues,” said Vice President Craig Gilbert.

A 22-year veteran of the entertainment industry, Swift most recently held the position of director of business development at Los Angeles-based Bill Silva Presents. While there he oversaw concert operations for the Hollywood Bowl, negotiated casino talent buying deals, and facilitated venue development.

Swift began his career in San Diego with Avalon Attractions and later joined Universal Concerts as the director of marketing for Coors Amphitheatre during its first year of operations. He was later promoted to vice president for the San Diego market and oversaw the business transition once Universal Concerts purchased Bill Silva Presents in 1999.

In 2001, Universal Concerts was purchased by House of Blues Concerts, and Swift was named general manager of Coors Amphitheatre while still maintaining his role of vice president for the San Diego area. He was responsible for 200 plus shows per year in the San Diego market at venues including Coors Amphitheatre, Cox Arena, Open Air Theatre at SDSU, Symphony Hall and Spreckels Theatre. He later was named vice president of business development to incorporate non-traditional revenue streams at all House of Blues Amphitheatres and further the company’s foray into casino entertainment buying.
