Boston HoB & Bank Of America Pavilion Cleared In Overdose Hearing

BOSTON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — In a hearing held on October 9th, Boston’s Licensing Board ruled that neither the House of Blues or the Bank of America Pavilion were culpable in a string of recent drug overdoses at the venues.

The city Licensing Board, which oversees establishments with food and alcohol licenses, had been weighing possible sanctions against both venues following several suspected drug overdoses involving the club drug MDMA, better known by the street names molly or ecstasy, the Boston Globe reported.

The incidents in question took place in late August when 19-year-old Brittany Flannigan died after taking an illicit drug at a concert at the House of Blues in Boston. Three concert-goers were hospitalized several days later during a show at the Bank of America Pavilion in suspected overdoses of molly and ketamine, another popular club drug.

“This drug Molly is just a scourge in that nightclub crowd,” Kenneth O’Brien, a Boston police detective said during the hearing. – Staff Writers
