Betty, Veronica And Jughead To CAA

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Not to be left out in the wake of major comic book deals, Creative Artists Agency has pacted with Archie Comics to create branded entertainment products based on Archie's intellectual property, Variety reported.

The Archie Comics brand includes the Archie gang as well as Josie & The Pussycats, Dotty and Sabrina the Teenage Witch among others.

CAA will be looking at deploying Archie IP in both film and television projects. A number of Archie characters have already made it to the big and small screen in the past, including a number of made-for-tv movies featuring Sabrina the Teenage Witch and 2001's Josie and the Pussycats.

CAA has a proven track record with branded IP projects and has worked with numerous clients such as Mattel and Hasbro with high-dollar franchises such as GI Joe and Transformers.

Ironically, the Archie & Friends comic series is set to come to an end in November, 2009 after a 67 year run. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
