Berklee College Of Music To Partner With NEMO Music Festival And Conference

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Berklee College of Music for the first time will actively partner with the NEMO Music Festival and Conference to bring to the event some of the innovative educators who make the college a destination for worldwide music industry career preparation. Berklee will provide faculty and Berklee Press authors for panels, music business/management students for panel assistance and consultation for panel topics that reflect Berklee’s contemporary music curriculum. The NEMO Music Festival and Conference takes place Oct, 1-2 with panels and workshops at the Hyatt Regency in Boston and showcases at clubs throughout Boston and Cambridge.

"Berklee is pleased to partner with NEMO to support the music community of New England at the 2004 festival and conference,” said Berklee Vice President of External Affairs Tom Riley. “Like NEMO, Berklee recognizes the value of bringing musicians together both to learn from each other and to find support for their music and ambitions among a network of musicians, producers, engineers, managers, and music business professionals.”

"We are thrilled to have Berklee involved with NEMO," Says Chip Rives, executive director of the NEMO Music Festival and Conference. "Our mission is to provide education and opportunities to independent musicians and people who want to enter the music industry. As a leader in music education, Berklee will be a great resource in developing panels, clinics, mentor sessions, and showcases."

In its eighth year, the NEMO Music Festival and Conference includes a music industry trade show, panel discussions, mentor sessions and evening showcases. Over 250 artists from around the world showcase their music in over 25 clubs throughout the city during the weekend.
