Bank of America Pavilion Loses Naming-Rights Partner

BOSTON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Boston Globe is reporting that the Bank of America has passed on renewing their naming-rights agreement with Live Nation over the the Bank of America Pavilion.

The 4,800-seat amphitheater, located in downtown Boston, was originally known as Harbor Lights Pavilion but has bourne the Bank of America moniker since 2004 when BofA inherited the agreement following their acquistion of FleetBoston Financial.

“This is a great property for a company looking to build brand locally,” T.J. Crawford, a Bank of America spokesman told The Globe. “While we have some named properties in our portfolio, it is no longer part of our brand strategy.”

BofA, which was one of the central players in the financial crash of 2008 has since declined to renew on a number of naming rights agreements, including nine out of ten NASCAR tracks it had deals with. Bank of America also has naming-rights deals with a stadium in Charlotte, N.C. and the Bank of America Theater in Chicago.

Live Nation, which owns the venue, is reportedly in talks with a number of potential partners, includiing some local and regional banks, the Globe said. – Staff Writers
