Azoff, Bratman And Kerner Form Soundproof

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Irving Azoff, chairman of azoffmusic management, music manager Jordan Bratman, and marketing executive Noah Kerner have partnered to create Soundproof. The new company will offer the creative and marketing communities an unparalleled talent resource. Soundproof represents leading record producers to create original concepts and music for cutting edge brands. The first project is a radio commercial with original music and production by Babyface. In the works is a television and radio spot for the European marketplace featuring Christina Aguilera, produced by Aguilera with Rob Hoffman and Heather Holley.

Never before has a group of top music makers and advisors formed to custom create original music targeted for the specific marketing goals of a client or product. Based in Los Angeles with offices in New York, Soundproof's roster currently includes Babyface, Glen Ballard, David Foster, Rodney Jerkins, Quincy Jones, Felix Da Housecat, Keith Stegall, James Stroud and Armand Van Helden.

“For advertisers, there has never been so much musical genius available in one place," says Bratman. "Our producers are some of the biggest names in the business with an unprecedented number of Grammy’s, a staggering volume of record sales, and a demonstrated ability to influence popular culture on a global basis. This will deliver unparalleled value to our clients.”

“We will help brands memorably articulate their message in a crowded marketplace with music that will powerfully differentiate their product and influence their bottom line," said Kerner.

“Jordan and Noah’s backgrounds are ideally suited to helping advertisers tap into the sounds and rhythms that drive contemporary pop culture,” says Azoff. “They intuitively understand the identity of a brand and the creative elements necessary to win market share. Additionally, producers now have a new and valuable channel for their own talent.”

Bratman was the director of A&R for producer Dallas Austin's DARP Music Inc., eventually becoming Austin’s manager and working with Madonna, Michael Jackson, Boys II Men, TLC, Pink and others. He has also served as a music consultant to Universal Pictures on various soundtracks.

Kerner is a partner in the leading viral marketing firm SoulKool, overseeing marketing and creative services for clients such as Sprite, Sprite ReMix, Powerade, Bombay Sapphire, TURI Vodka and Sara Lee. Formerly, he was director of New Media Marketing at Edel Records, marketing manager and strategist for the VH1 Group and MTV Interactive and marketing consultant to Trojan Condoms. Kerner has been a music supervisor and DJ for 11 years. He has appeared on Jay Leno, Rosie O'Donnell, The Today Show, MTV Europe, and The Box. He has DJ'd for Jennifer Lopez and supervised music for brands ranging from Crunch Fitness to Sony PlayStation. Kerner recently signed with Simon & Schuster to pen a book, “Cool and Cutting Edge in American Culture.”

Azoff has been a successful agent, personal manager, concert promoter, movie producer, independent record label owner, merchandiser, music publisher and record company CEO. He is the chairman of azoffmusic management and the personal manager of the Eagles and oversees the careers of Don Henley, Christina Aguilera, Glenn Frey, Seal, Paula Cole, Jewel, Charlotte Church, Journey and Bush. He was named "Manager of the Year" by both of the touring industry's trade publications, Performance and Pollstar. He has also been a successful film producer, producing “Urban Cowboy,” “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” “Frost,” “The Inkwell” and “The Hurricane." –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
