SPAIN (CelebrityAccess) — Two of Spain’s leading EDM festivals – Barcelona’s Sónar Festival, and Paraíso in Madrid, are teaming up in a joint venture to strengthen both brands.
The two festivals announced a collaborative agreement to synergize in their content delivery, management and operations, Sonar organizers said in a statement.
Organizers for both festivals will continue to develop their events and keep control of their teams and companies, but Advanced Music, the company behind Sónar, will take a stake in Paraíso Sonoro, the company behind Paraíso.
The three-day Sónar lands in Barcelona this year from July 18-20 with a lineup that features performances from 140 artists such as Asap Rocky, Disclosure DJ Show, Bad Bunny, and Paul Kalkbrenner. The festival, which debuted in 1994, has expanded to include Sónar+D, a four-day business, and technology conference,
Meanwhile, Paraíso is a relative newcomer to Spain’s festival scene and will mark its second year when it takes place on June 14 & 15, featuring performances by Bob Moses, Solomun, Chvrches and Charlotte Gainsbourg among others.
