SAN FRANCISCO (CelebrityAccess) Paul McCartney has reacted to the passing of SLO Ticketing’s Shelley Lazar, as has Elton John.
McCartney was very close to the so-called Ticketing Queen, or MFTQ as Keith Richards succinctly put it, who passed away Sunday after a battle with cancer. Lazar was known for handling VIP ticketing for all the major players, from The Rolling Stones to Lady Gaga to Barbra Streisand. Many tweeted their condolences yesterday and now Macca and Elton have weighed in. McCartney has showed his affection for Lazar over the years, dedicating songs to her from the stage.
“Fond fun memories of our lovely MF Ticket Queen, Shelley x #MFTQ #ShelleyLazar #rip,” McCartney tweeted and posted on Instagram, adding photos of him dancing with Lazar.

“Very sad news today with the passing of Shelley Lazar,” John posted on Instagram. “She looked after my tickets for years, and worked with such greats as the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney. Why? Because she was the very best and a legend in her field. She will be deeply missed by the legions who loved her.
#RIP @lazarshelley @kevinmazur.”

Meanwhile, Madison Square Garden closed its box office in honor of Lazar, and changed its signage to read “MFTQ.”
