LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will have a new name – for its field.
The stadium itself will maintain its legacy name, but the University of Southern California has worked out a naming rights deal with United Airlines for the field after concerns from veteran groups kept USC from renaming the entire facility.
The 10-year deal names the turf United Airlines Field at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum starting in August, according to KABC News. The deal secures a $315 million funding project to restore the Coliseum and upgrade the venue.
As part of the agreement, USC and United will work to identify ways to honor local veterans, according to KABC. That will include providing support for veterans attending the school.
