(CelebrityAccess) — Americana roots band The Turnpike Troubadours announced the cancellation another round of performances, including a high profile gig at Red Rocks Amphitheater on June 18th, and said the band is going on “indefinite hiatus.”

In a post to their social media addressed to fans, a rep for the band wrote:

We want to again apologize for the abrupt cancellations of our shows this past weekend. We can assure you that the situation was not in our control.

We want nothing more than the opportunity for to heal, and to not put all of you through this ever again. To have a chance for any of this, we need to cancel all of our remaining tour dates. Turnpike Troubadours will go on an indefinite hiatus until a time we feel that everyone is of strong mind, body and spirit and can deliver what our fans deserve.

Refunds for all scheduled shows can be made at point of purchase.

To all of you who have given us so much, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You believed in us, you raised us up, you stuck by us and you gave us more unconditional love than any band could ask for. We are humbled.

We ask that you please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we work to support and encourage.

Thank you all for everything. We love you!

The Troubadors did not elaborate on what prompted the hiatus, but in recent months they have been abruptly pulling out of shows.

When they have performed, some fans reported frontman Evan Felker appeared to be intoxicated, slurring and forgetting lyrics. Last year, when the group canceled all of their November performances, they released a statement that further hinted at a potential substance abuse problem.

“There have been many discussions on what to say publicly, and it is our unanimous opinion that our fans are our family, and there is no need to sugar coat anything. Living this life on the road has so many ups, but, like in all life situations, there are also battles and struggles with which you learn to deal. The one core thing our band has always had is a tight family unit. The love we share with our entire team: our bandmembers, road crew, business team and fan base feels very much like family. When one of us is down, we are there to lift them up and help them down the road. Right now, we have a situation that needs our complete attention,” a rep for the band said in October while announcing the canceled dates.
