ALLENTOWN, Pa. (CelebrityAccess) The Allentown Fair in Pennsylvania has announced it has signed a multiyear agreement with Live Nation, the fair’s first outside promoter in 25 years.

Live Nation is expected to schedule and manage the fair’s headline concerts for its grandstand. The deal also gives Live Nation the ability to book shows throughout the year at the amphitheatre, the largest shed in Lehigh Valley with a seated capacity of 10,500 and standing capacity of 14,500, according to the Morning Call.

“Live Nation has an outstanding reputation for securing live performances across the Lehigh Valley and across the United States,” fair Executive Chairman Ray Hoffman reportedly said. “We are excited for the opportunities that Live Nation will bring to the Allentown Fair.”

At the news conference, Live Nation Regional President Geoff Gordon said the fair “has a long and storied history and we are thrilled to be working with the Lehigh County Agricultural Society in helping bring some of the best entertainers to Allentown.”

Fair Marketing and Entertainment Manager Jessica Ciecwisz said the fair worked with Live Nation for this fall’s lineup. The fair, which runs Aug. 27 to Sept. 1, will include Impractical Jokers, Hall & Oates, Brookes & Dunn and Miranda Lambert.

The grandstand has not held concerts apart from the fair since 1994, according to the Morning Call. Before that, it was the venue of choice for late promoter Tom Makoul, who brought in acts like Bryan Adams, The Scorpions and Bob Dylan.

“The relationship with the fair is beginning and we look forward to expanding it to its full potential,” Gordon said. “I always say, ‘A good job today, better job tomorrow.’ Possibilities are on the upswing.”

Live Nation books the nearby 3,750-capacity Sands Bethlehem Event Center and works with Allentown’s 10,000-capacity PPL Center.
