ANTWERP (CelebrityAccess) — Live Nation Belgium has reportedly acquired, partially at least, Belgian venue operator Sportpaleis Group which runs the 23,000-capacity Antwerps Sportpaleis in Antwerp.
According to IQ Magazine, the deal includes the Sportpaleis, which is the largest indoor venue in Europe, as well as the Lotto Arena, the Forest National in Brussels and the Ethias Arena in Hasselt.
However, the deal does not include other Sportpaleis Group properties such as Night of the Proms promoter PSE Belgium and ticketing company Tele Ticket Service.
The deal expands Live Nation’s footprint in the market, which already includes festivals Rock Werchter, Dour, Pukkelpop and Graspop, but no actual venues.
Per IQ Magazine, Antwerp Sportpaleis managers Jan Van Esbroeck and Jan Vereecke will continue in their roles at the company following the acquisition.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
