LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Morrissey announced that he’s teaming up with the post-punk band Interpol for a tour of North America later this year.
The 14-date tour kicks off on September 5th with a performance at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland and runs through the rest of the month before winding up at Pechanga Arena in San Diego on Oct. 10th.
The new North American dates are in addition to a previously announced Canadian tour segment, as well as a seven-night stand at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater in New York as part of Live Nation’s ‘In Residence’ Broadway concert series in May.
Moz is touring in support of his forthcoming covers album, California Son, which is due on May 24th at your favorite streaming service. Interpol recently teased their upcoming EP Fine Mess, the follow-up to last year’s LP Marauder.
Of course, all of this assumes Morrissey actually completes the tour. The former Smiths frontman has earned a reputation for canceling or postponing tours. Last year, he canceled all of his UK and Europe dates and the year before, he pulled the plug on his North American dates mid-tour.
