NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — Newly-minted publishing and marketing company Mojo Music & Media, has launched via the acquisition of Nashville-based HoriPro Entertainment Group.
As part of the acquisition, Mojo will launch a new office in Nashville, staffed by former HoriPro executives Butch Baker (SVP Creative), Carrie Wilkins (VP Administration & Business Affairs) and song pluggers Keithan Melton and Courtney Crist, along with most of HoriPro’s support staffers. The company also maintains offices in New York and London.
The deal includes Horipro’s catalog of more than 15,000 songs, and more than 250 charting hits from artists such as REO Speedwagon, a stake in music by KISS and music by country music legend George Strait. The deal also includes the full catalog of musician Jerry Reed, as well as material from Moby, The Cowsills, Boys II Men, and Marilyn Manson.
Mojo’s current roster of writers includes Neil Medley, Joe Clemmons, Sarah Allison Turner, and Mike Walker.
Mojo was founded by Spirit Music Group founder Mark Fried, and former Spirit SVP Peter Shane, as well as Alan Wallis, who was an exec at the ‘big four’ accountancy Ernst & Young.
Mojo offers full-service music publishing and rights management, as well as full-service brand and legacy marketing for artists on its roster.
