PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess) — On Tuesday, rapper Questlove announced that he’s moving his summer music festival, the Roots Picnic, from its longtime home at Penns Landing to ‘greener pastures’ at the Mann Music Center in Fairmount Park.

“It was a great 11 years at #PennsLanding: now it’s time to rise up,” Questlove wrote in a post on his Instagram account. “We going to greener pastures! We are moving the picnic to the MannMusicCenterGrounds in #FairmontPark. Yes! Literally GREENER PASTURES! Trust us on this!”

As Questlove noted, the festival’s new location includes actual grass instead of a city pier, as well as “ample parking and transportation service.”

Built in 1976, the Mann Center for the Performing Arts serves as summertime home court for the Philadelphia OrOrchestraThe PAC features a capacity of 14,000 total, with a roofed capacity of 4,743.

Questlove also teased the first artists for the festival’s lineup for 2019, which includes, unsurprisingly, The Roots, as well as H.E.R., 21 Savage, Raphael Saadiq, Queen Naija, City Girls, Blueface, Moon Child, Ari Lennox, Tank & The Bangas and others.

The lineup for 2019 also includes a collection of podcasters, including the teams from the Joe Budden Podcast, The Read podcast and the Questlove Supreme podcast.

The 2019 edition of the festival is scheduled for June 1st.
