(CelebrityAccess) — Veteran rockers ZZ Top have been forced to cancel the first four performances of their 50th Anniversary Tour after drummer Frank Beard reportedly contracted pneumonia.

According to a statement from the band, Beard appears to have become afflicted the ailment while on the band’s just completed tour of Europe and, upon his return home, was advised by his physician to rest and recuperate.

The four dates affected are in Ridgefield, WA, Airway Heights, WA, Vancouver, BC and Yakima, WA for the initial run of the tour that had been set to start on August 16th.

At present, ZZ Top are slated to return to the road on August 22nd at Château Ste. Michelle in Washington State.
