LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – UTA has signed entrepreneur, music producer and art collector Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean for representation in all areas.

The announcement follows the success of Dreamweavers, the prolific contemporary surrealist group exhibition which Swizz co-presented with UTA Artist Space earlier this year.

Swizz, who serves on the Brooklyn Museum’s Board of Trustees and is known as a champion for emerging talent, founded The Dean Collection with his wife, Grammy award-winning musician Alicia Keys, in 2015. The collection includes over 1,000 works from rising and established contemporary artists. The Dean Collection also hosts the No Commission Art Fair, which has taken place in locations across the globe and provides opportunities for contemporary artists to sell their work and keep 100% of the proceeds.

On the music side, Swizz is a Grammy award-winning recording artist and producer that has sold over 350 million records domestically. His 2018 album Poison debuted to widespread critical acclaim and featured high-profile collaborators including Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Lil Wayne and Nas. Swizz and Keys are also recipients of the Recording Academy’s prestigious Producers & Engineers Wing Award, which acknowledges contributions made to the music community.

Additionally, Swizz is an active philanthropist who works closely with a multitude of causes and initiatives including New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, the Bronx Charter School of the Arts, the American Cancer Society, Boost Mobile RockCorps, Gordon Parks Foundation, Children’s Rights, and Keep A Child Alive, a HIV/AIDS charity founded by Keys.

“Swizz has an intuitive understanding of the cultural landscape and is a true creative pioneer across the intersection of art, music and business,” said Jeremy Zimmer, UTA’s Chief Executive Officer. “He was the driving force behind the success of our Dreamweavers exhibition and we look forward to working together to bring more innovative projects to life.”

“I am excited to continue creating history with the UTA team!” Swizz added. “What we did with Dreamweavers was just a peek into where we want to go with the creativity. ‘Let the creatives create’ is the cornerstone of what myself and The Dean Collection are built on, and with UTA as my partner I know my wings will span even further to do just that…CREATE!”
