BURBANK (CelebrityAccess) – Tuff Morgan has been promoted by global independent publisher peermusic to Vice President of A&R.

Morgan brings with him to the role 15 years of music industry experience that includes work as a Gold-certified artist, producer, songwriter, manager, publisher, and A&R rep. He first joined peermusic in 2014 as Director of Pop & Urban Music, though he worked with the company in a consulting capacity before coming on full-time. Most recently he served as Senior Director of A&R.

In his new post, Morgan will lead peermusic’s A&R efforts in the Pop and Urban genres in the U.S. He will continue to be based out of peer’s Burbank offices and will report to peermusic President, Kathy Spanberger.

Commenting on Morgan’s appointment, Spanberger said: “It is very rare to find an executive that has Tuff’s skill set. His background as an artist and songwriter gives him the sensitivity and creativity to work well with the creativity community but that innate skill is coupled with a razor sharp and transparent business mind that gives our clients the information they need to make sound decisions about their careers. It’s an unbeatable combination.”

Morgan added: “I’m blessed to work with such an amazing and diverse group of songwriters. Every day I look forward to the opportunity of building something special and innovative with the peermusic family for the songwriters we work with.”

Previously, Morgan has collaborated on projects for artists including Dr. Dre, Method Man, The Game, Busta Rhymes, Melanie Fiona and Rihanna. He has also worked in various development, management and A&R roles with artists including Jheryl Busby (Umbrella Records) and Brian Turner (Melee/Priority Records).
