LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — The Los Angeles Dodgers announced plans for a $100-million renovation of Dodger Stadium that is expected to be completed in time for the 2020 season.

According to the Los Angeles Times, planned upgrades include a new center field plaza that will serve as an entrance for the stadium. The plaza will add new food concessions, a beer garden and two sports bars as well as a children’s play area and a space for pre and post-game musical performances.

Other planned upgrades include new seats and standing positions that ring the seating areas and new walkways that will, for the first time, allow for a 360 degree circuit around the stadium.

“We’re finally going to have a front door with this entertainment plaza we’re building below and beyond the pavilions,” Stan Kasten, Dodgers president and chief executive told the Los Angeles Times. “It’s going to act like a two-acre tailgating area pre- and postgame.”

The stadium upgrades will also include a new sound system as well as a new speaker stack in center field.

Dodger Stadium, which first opened in 1962, saw its last major refurb in 2014 with the addition of new clubhouses, widened concourses, new concession stands, upgrades to restrooms, and standing room viewing areas.
