Simon Cowell Re-Ups With ITV For 5 Years

LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — British television broadcaster ITV announced it has a new five year deal with Simon Cowell ‘s Syco Entertainment and Thames that will keep his popular talent shows on the network through 2024.

Syco Entertainment and Thames (part of Fremantle UK) produce shows such as Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor, which is slated to return to ITV in 2020.

“I am thrilled our relationship with ITV is to continue for the foreseeable future. ITV has always been home to Britain’s Got Talent, The X Factor – and me! – and this long-term commitment shows the mutual respect in our partnership,” Cowell said in a statement.

Acts such as One Direction, Leona Lewis, Little Mix, Olly Murs, Alexandra Burke, James Arthur, JLS, Diversity, Susan Boyle, Ashley and Pudsey, Paul Potts and Lost Voice Guy were all discovered by one of the shows and in total, acts discovered by The X Factor have sold more than 400 million records globally to date.

The 13th season of Britain’s Got Talent wrapped in June, with an average viewership of 8.5m, representing an impressive 39% share of the audience. The finale, which took place on June 2nd, was watched by 9.7m viewers.
