LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Mark Williamson, Spotify’s longtime Global Head of Artist & Industry Partnerships is exiting the company.

According to Music Business Worldwide, Williamson announced his departure in a letter to colleagues sent on June 12th.

“I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say the music world has tilted on its axis in that time and I hope that the change and growth that we’ve seen has been for the better for you and the artists you work with,” Williamson wrote.

“Over the years, as my team and I were out trying to get as many of you as possible to sit down with us, there was no guarantee that the promise of streaming would deliver. I’m grateful that so many of you took the risk, and put aside your concerns, to give us a chance. I hope we’ve made it worth your while.”

Williamson joined Spotify’s London operation in 2011, first serving as Director of Artist Services and later transitioning to Head of Artist Services for the EU and in 2015, for the whole company.

According to MBW, Williamson plans to remain in Los Angeles following his exit from the streaming service.
