Peter Rosenthal Named General Counsel At Downtown Music Publishing

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess)  — Downtown Music Publishing has announced the appointment Peter Rosenthal as General Counsel.

In his role, Rosenthal will oversee all aspects of the legal and business affairs for Downtown Music Publishing, Songtrust?, and Downtown Music Studios, including publishing, administration, license agreements and other transactional matters, acquisitions, global policy, enforcement, and corporate matters, the company said.

Based in New York, Rosenthal reports to Downtown’s Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Bergman.

A veteran of the entertainment world, Rosenthal has more than 20 years of experience in advising clients in the entertainment and media sector.

Prior to Downtown, he was a partner in the New York office of the law firm Ritholz Levy Fields LLP, where he’d spent more than thirteen years. Before joining the firm, Rosenthal’s diverse background included roles at Playboy.com, Inc., Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP, and the Entrepreneurial Services Group of Bingham, Dana & Gould.

Rosenthal is an occasional guest speaker on copyright at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, and contributor to articles on copyright matters.

He holds degrees from Oberlin College and Boston University School of Law.
