OJAI, Calif. (CelebrityAccess) William “Bill” Monot, co-founder of Paradise Artists, passed away in Ojai, Calif., Aug. 10.

Monot, who was still an active agent, was a shareholder at Paradise Artists, which he started with Howard Silverman in 1989.

Monot’s career started at the Al Schultz Agency in Waukegan, IL.  In the early 80’s, he joined the Willard Alexander Agency where he became head of the Chicago office in 1984.  In 1988 he moved to Ojai, CA to start E.T.A. (Entertainment Talent Agency), which was the precursor to Paradise Artists where Bill spent the remainder of his career.  Early in his career, Bill represented the likes of Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich and The Count Basie Orchestra.

While at Paradise Artists, Bill was responsible for John Kay & Steppenwolf, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, WAR, Blood Sweat & Tears, and Taylor Dayne, among others.  Bill is survived by his daughter Megan Anderson, son-in-law Jason Anderson, grandson Tristan Anderson, mother Helen Monnot and brother Gerald Monnot and family.
