(CelebrityAccess) – Popular music discovery website PureVolume has announced that it is no more.

An announcement posted to the company’s website read: “We reget [sic] to inform you that PureVolume.com is shutting down. If you were storing music here, you will have until April 30th, 2018 to download it. Thanks for all your support.”

Launched in 2003 by Brett Woitunski, Mitchell Pavao and Nathan Hudson, PureVolume was designed as a social music site intended to help fans discover and connect with new bands. As the site gained popularity, it also became a popular A&R tool for labels seeking new rock acts like Paramore, My Chemical Romance, and Fall Out Boy.

Over the years, PureVolume also maintained a presence at industry events such as New York’s CMJ Music Marathon and South by Southwest.

In 2010, PureVolume was acquired by SpinMedia, before once again being sold to Hive Media in 2016 as part of a deal that also included Idolator and Buzznet.
