PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess) — A Pennsylvania appeals court has thrown out a conviction in a drug and gun case for Meek Mill, paving the way for a new trial in the decade-old case.

According to the Associated Press, the three-judge appeals court panel on Wednesday unanimously ruled in favor of granting Mill a new trial based on new evidence of alleged police corruption.

The Pennsylvania Superior Court also overruled a lower court’s finding that Mill, whose real name is Robert Williams, had violated parole. Mill was imprisoned on the parole violation for five months in 2017.

It is unclear if the case will be retried. Police officer Reginald Graham, the state’s sole witness against Mill, has since appeared on a list of 29 current and former police officers who the Philadelphia District Attorney recommends prosecutors do not call for testimony due to allegations of “lying, racial bias, or brutality.”

Graham was reportedly investigated by federal authorities but never charged with any crime.
