AUSTIN, TX (CelebrityAccess) — Singer Maggie Rogers was forced to call out several members of the audience for what she later described as harassment.

The “Light On” singer was performing at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin on Friday when several members of the audience began calling out inappropriate comments during an interlude before her final song “Alaska,”

The comments, which included the rank suggestion that Rogers remove her shirt, prompted a visceral reaction from the performer, who promptly told the audience members to “shut the fuck up” and telling them “don’t’ tell me to take my fucking top off during the middle of my sentimental speech.”

Rogers later took to social media to vent about the incident.

“Every night before the ‘alaska’ acoustic encore, i speak about gratitude and growth and change. it’s the most vulnerable part of the set. just me and a guitar before i say goodnight,” Rogers wrote in a post to Instagram. “Last night, in the middle of this speech a man yelled ‘take your top off.’ another joined in and yelled ‘you cute though.’”

“i was stunned. Furious. Fuming. Confused. And also – on a really basic level – it really hurt my feelings,” Rogers added.

She went on to offer a clear warning for fans at future shows.

“I want to use this moment to be very very clear. There is no space for harassment or disrespect or degradation of any kind at my show,” she wrote. “Be kind to each other out there.”
