COLORADO SPRINGS (CelebrityAccess) — Heavy metal icons Judas Priest have cancelled their upcoming Colorado Springs show after the band’s frontman, Rob Halford, reportedly came down with a respiratory infection.

The Priest had been slated to perform at Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs on June 5th but on Tuesday, announced the show had been postponed.

“Rob Halford has been fighting bronchitis for over a week and now doctors have told him he needs full rest so his voice can recover – therefore tomorrow’s Judas Priest concert has unfortunately been cancelled. The band did not want to cancel but Rob’s health must come first. THE PRIEST WILL BE BACK to Colorado Springs, but until then refunds for all tickets will be available at point of purchase,” AEG announced on Tuesday.

Judas Priest is next scheduled to perform at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Canada on June 8th and no additional announcement has been made regarding that show. As of yet, no word about a makeup date has been announced for the Colorado Springs show.

The postponement comes just days after Halford was captured on video kicking a cellphone out of a fan’s hand. A video of the incident, which took place at Rosemont Theatre near Chicago in May, shows Halford appearing to focus on a fan who is holding a smartphone up in the air, recording the show. In the video, Halford winds up and punts the phone from the fan’s hand, sending it tumbling through the air.

Following the incident, Halford took to social media to state: “The facts are we love our fans and you can film us all you like and watch our show on your phone rather than in the flesh – however, if you physically interfere with the Metal God’s performance you now know what will happen…”
