Jay Andino To Lead The Orchard’s New Urban Unit

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Film, video and music distributor The Orchard has tapped veteran promotions and label exec Jay Andino to service as Vice President of the company’s newly-formed Urban Division.

Andino will oversee The Orchard’s urban operations and strategy, as well as new acquisitions, sales, and marketing. He’ll also have oversight of developing and maintaining relationships with artists, labels, and managers in the Urban world, the Orchard said.

Andino will be based in the company’s New York office and report to The Orchard’s CEO Brad Navin.

“Jay’s enthusiasm and exceptional track record in the Urban genre make him the ideal candidate for The Orchard’s Urban Music Division,” Navin said. “We are excited to welcome him to our global team as we further expand The Orchard’s unparalleled offering.”

Andino comes to his new gig after a stint at 300 Entertainment where he was Director of National Urban and Rhythm Promotions under the watchful eye of Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles.

He was also at Interscope Records, where he worked with artists on the label’s roster such as Kendrick Lamar and Eminem. He got his start in the label industry at SRC Records under Gaby Acevedo and Steve Rifkind, where he did promotions for artists such as Akon.
