GoFundMe For Fallen Coachella Worker Tops $75k

(CelebrityAccess) — A GoFundMe account in the name of a worker who died in an accident during the setup for this year’s Coachella has more than tripled its fundraising goal.

The GoFundMe, which was established to assist the family of Chris Griffin, who died on April 13th in a fall on the festival grounds. A longtime member of the festival’s production team, Griffen left behind a wife Samantha and two 14-year-old twin daughters.

“Working with Staging Companies (Edwin Shirley, Stageco (Belgium) Brown United, Kleege Industries and G2 Structures) most of his life, starting in the UK, Europe and The Us, He was an unforgettable force to the industry, he was an asset to everything he participated in,” Griffen’s friend Bobby “Boomer” Thrasher said in establishing the GoFundMe in Griffen’s name.

“For Samantha and the girls, their life was disrupted in an instant and will change forever! So I set up this GoFund Me campaign to help this loving Family That Chris has left behind with unforeseen expenses and with hopes to have the girls continue their education and [go] off to college and to live on as comfortably as possible,” he added.

The funding goal was originally set at $25,000, but by Monday afternoon, was closing in on $80,000, including a $10,000 gift from a donor identifying themselves as Dead & Company.
