Ghost Ship Organizers to Accept Plea Deals In Deadly Warehouse Fire

The two men will likely be released after serving half their sentences due to time off for good behavior.

Almena, who rented the warehouse and (illegally) converted it into a residence and entertainment venue, lived in the space with his wife and three children. Harris, who also lived in the warehouse, helped to collect rent and schedule local for-profit shows.

Each man was charged with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter, however, both have been credited with two years of imprisonment for time already served.

The plea deals will, of course, spare the victims’ families from having to testify at trial.
