NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — The Journey Home Project, a non-profit serving America’s veterans founded by the late country music legend Charlie Daniels, will continue with its mission.

David Corlew, Daniels’ longtime manager, and co-founder of Journey Home, revealed plans for the organization to continue its good works under the name The Charlie Daniels Journey Home Project (TCDJHP).

“Even though Charlie has passed, we will continue his legacy and stay on mission,” explains Corlew. “As we all know, the men and women that have and continue to serve our country were so important to him. Our goals are to always support the Charlie and Hazel Daniels Center at MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University), as well as our suicide prevention programs and the process of reintegrating and transitioning these great Americans back to a productive and rewarding life.”

In addition, Daniels’ late wife Hazel has been appointed to TCDJHP’s board of directors.

Once coronavirus restrictions ease, TCDJHP plans to resume hosting fundraising events including the annual “Charlie Daniels Patriot Award Dinner,” which typically takes place in Nashville.

In the coming weeks, the organization is planning to announce this year’s “Charlie Daniels Patriot Award” recipient. Past “Charlie Daniels Patriot Award” recipients include country star Chris Young, former Military Systems Group CEO William Horton, music industry international talent buyer/promoter Judy Seale, and the Atlanta-based Shepherd Center.
