Weather Prompts Evacuation Of Phish Concert

CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Phish was forced to close the first show of a three-night stand in Chicago early, after the venue was forced to evacuate in the face of a potentially dangerous thunderstorm.

According to Billboard, Phish had just started the song “Prince Caspian” at Chicago’s FirstMerit Bank Pavilion when they had to stop, with officials requesting that the more than 20,000 fans exit the venue in an orderly fashion.

“The venue has been evacuated due to a major storm that is approaching the area,” the band Tweeted, soon following it up with another, stating, “Unfortunately, that's it for the night.”

The venue had just finished cleaning up after a very muddy Jimmy Buffett concert on July 29th, when the newly expanded lawn area became flooded. Live Nation issued refunds or free passes to fans affected by the weather at the Jimmy Buffett show.
