Warner Bros., which owns half of Quincy Jones' 10-year-old Qwest Records, is poised to buy the other half for $10 million and then close the label and let about 15 staffers go. Reports indicate Warner Bros. is still trying to buy the other half of Irving Azoff's Giant Records and keep it active.
Warner Bros. has recently convinced 600 senior employees to take very lucrative buyouts.
