Voodoo Music Experience Revamps Loa Lounge

NEW ORLEANS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — In a city known for its hospitality, look for this year’s Voodoo Music Experience to complement the wide range of musical acts with an enhanced LOA Lounge VIP area that will set it apart from traditional VIP areas in a uniquely New Orleans way.

In the Voodoo tradition, the "Loa" resemble people who led exceptional lives, and are usually given a single responsibility or special attribute. Unlike saints or angels, however, they are not simply prayed to, they are served. And the guests of the LOA Lounge are each distinct beings with their own personal likes and dislikes, songs, dances, ritual symbols and special modes of service; they will be treated to all of this at this year's Voodoo Music Experience.

Beyond the traditional VIP offerings–premium viewing of the main stages from VIP grandstands, VIP Parking with line-free entrance, full-bar service with complimentary beverage and exclusive LOA Lounge- only performances–Rehage Entertainment, producers of Voodoo Music Experience, have joined forces with Dickie Brennan’s critically acclaimed restaurants to offer concert-goers a unique “culinary experience.”

The LOA Lounge special menu from Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse, Palace Cafe and Bourbon House Seafood features dishes never before available to festivalgoers. Chefs from all three restaurants will tend on-site grills and rotisseries. Grilled Redfish on the Half-Shell is finished with lemon beurre-blanc sauce. Cochon de Lait, suckling pigs, are “offered” up after being transformed into an amazing culinary delight: roasted for hours over an open flame, topped with a long simmered blueberry barbeque sauce and served over honeyed cornbread. Prime Burgers (with housemade smoked bacon) and a rustic and hearty Gumbo Ya-Ya will also fortify the soul. And to end (or decadently begin), the incomparable original White Chocolate Bread Pudding with white chocolate ganache generously ladled over the top will be a crowd favorite. These and more dishes are part of the 2007 Voodoo Experience.

"Great music and great food is the embodiment of New Orleans culture. Our chefs and talented culinarians are looking forward to doing their delicious part to make this the best Voodoo Experience yet," Dickie Brennan said.

Set for Halloween weekend (October 26, 27 and 28) in City Park, New Orleans’ signature fall music event will feature more than 110 acts including Rage Against The Machine, The Smashing Pumpkins and Dr. John. These acts will appear in the Voodoo Music Experience’s three distinct performance areas–Le Ritual, Le Flambeau and Le Carnival–each of which highlights a unique side of the personality of New Orleans.

A limited number of LOA Lounge tickets will go on sale Friday, July 20 at 10:00 AM for $450. This price will increase as the festival approaches. Additional ticket fees include a $3 charity donation and applicable Ticketmaster service and shipping/handling charges. Tickets are available via and Ticketmaster, – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
