NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Vevo, the online music video partnershup between Universal Music Group and Sony is set to launch on Dec. 8 sources close to the company told Billboard.
Powered by Google's YouTube video sharing technology, the Vevo will provide an online platform for music videos and other content from affiliated labels. As to who these labels might be beyond the aforementioned UMG and Sony is anyone's guess.
Billboard reported that the company, helmed by Rio Caraeff, fomerly with UMG's eLabs has picked up some key partners such as Abu Dhabi Media who poured $300 million in venture capital into the firm and AT&T who've come aboard as Vevo's first major advertising sponsor. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
