UPDATE: Kesha's Billboard Music Performance Is Back On

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Kesha is once again back on the bill of performers for the 2016 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.

On Thursday, her label, Sony-owned Kemosabe Records, released a statement saying, "Kesha’s performance on the Billboard Music Awards was always approved, in good faith. Approval was only suspended when Kemosabe learned Kesha was to use the performance as a platform to discuss the litigation. Now that Kemosabe has obtained assurances, that it is relying upon, from Kesha, her representatives and Dick Clark Productions that neither Kesha nor her supporters will use the performance as such a platform, the approval has been restored."

"We are pleased that Kesha and Kemosabe Records have reached an agreement and very much look forward to having Kesha perform on the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday night on ABC," read a subsequent statement from the awards show's producer dick clark productions.

Kesha, who is seeking to escape from her contract with Kemosabe, Sony Records, has alleged that her longtime producer Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald had emotionally, physically and sexually abused her after persuading her to move away from her family at the age of 18 to pursue a recording career. Gottwald has denied the rape allegations, citing court proceedings in 2011 in which Kesha testified that the alleged rape never took place. No criminal charges have been filed based on the accusations. – Staff Writers
