UPDATE: CCE Restructuring

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — As previously reported, Clear Channel Entertainment has undergone a major restructuring of its Live Music Division, resulting in almost 100 lay-offs and the creation of two distinct business units — the Live Music Division headed by Charlie Walker, COO Live, will concentrate on concert-promotion, marketing and artist services. He will be based in Los Angeles. The Venues Division, headed by Patrick Leahy, COO Venues, will focus on CCE’s amphitheatre and theatre operations.

CCE Global Music CEO/President Michael Rapino noted that these decisions required the relocation of personnel to Los Angeles as well as some departures from the company whom he thanked for their past contributions to the company and wished them well in their future pursuits.

Los Angeles will serve as the hub of operations for CCE Music and the U.S. Live Music Division will be divided into 11 regional markets headed by regional presidents (indicated by bullets) and each company retaining its original name from when CCE acquired it in the 1990’s. Their respective companies and their presidents are:

• Avalon Attractions (Southern California) – Brian Murphy
• Belkin (Cleveland) – Michael Belkin
• Bill Graham Presents (San Francisco) – Lee Smith
• Cellar Door South (Columbia, S.C.) – Wilson Howard
Peter Conlon Presents (Atlanta)
• Cellar Door North (Detroit) – Rick Franks
Ritual Productions (Detroit)
Sunshine Promotions – (Indianapolis)

• Ron Delsener Presents (New York) – Jim Glancy
Jim Koplick Presents (Hartford)
• Electric Factory Concerts (Philadelphia) – Larry Magid
• Evening Star Productions (Phoenix) – Danny Zelisko
• Pace Concerts (Houston) – Bob Roux
• Tea Party (Boston) – Don Law
• Midwest Region (Chicago) – Mark Campana.

Clear Channel Entertainment Chairman/CEO Brian Becker noted that the changes made will make them "more efficient, and equip us to be nimble, flexible and creative.”

Also, as previously reported here, Joel Peresman has joined Ron Delsener Presents as its COO (October 28, 2004). — Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
